CASA in Need of More Volunteers


Currently, Prairie Plains CASA has 40 children involved in the court system, and 10 volunteers. Twenty-three of these children have volunteer CASAs, and 17 are waiting for volunteers.
 In addition to Red Willow County, volunteers especially are needed in Furnas and Hitchcock counties, which have only one volunteer between them.
 CASA volunteers must pass a background check, participate in a
 30-hour pre-service training course and agree to stay with a case until it
 is closed, which takes about a year and-a-half on average." Karen Storrs

The need is huge but the reward of helping a child is priceless.
